Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread

Happy Easter!

That's for you.

Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread.

Think of a cinnamon roll. The best part is the gooey middle, right?

Well... you can consider this one big cinnamon roll, where all there is is gooey middle. I wanted to make something sweet for my family's Easter Brunch, but thought that cinnamon rolls were too overdone. Then I came across this tasty recipe, and it's basically cinnamon roll bread, so I thought, perfect!

One thing about this bread that is different than a cinnamon roll, however, is that it's not as sweet. My mom really liked this because she's not too big on sweet breads, but she said this was the perfect amount!

This bread is a little time-intensive, but it's completely worth the wait! Trust me :)

Here's the recipe! Happy Easter!

Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread

Ingredients

Dough:

2 3/4 cups + 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour

1/4 cup sugar

2 1/4 tsp. (1 envelope) active dry yeast

1/2 tsp. salt

6 tbsp. unsalted butter

1/3 cup milk (I used skim and it worked fine!)

1/4 cup water

2 large eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

Filling:

1 cup sugar

2 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. nutmeg

6 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted and browned

Directions

In a large bowl, mix 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, and salt together.

In a small bowl, whisk eggs together and set aside.

On the stove, in a small saucepan, melt butter and milk together until butter has just melted; Remove from heat and add water and vanilla; Let sit for a minute or two.

Pour milk mixture in with dry ingredients and mix; Add eggs and stir mixture until all is incorporated.

Add remaining 3/4 cup flour and stir for about two minutes until mixture is sticky.

Place dough in a large, greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and a clean kitchen towel.

Place in a warm location for about 30 minutes to an hour, so the dough can rise.

While the dough is rising, whisk together sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. This is for the filling!

Melt about 6 tbsps of butter on the stove until browned. Set both sugar mixture and butter aside.

Grease a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Set aside as well.

Once risen, knead about 2 tbsps of flour into dough. Cover with a clean kitchen towl and let rest for about 5 minutes.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough so that it's about 12 inches tall and 20 inches long (try your best!)

Use a pastry brush to spread melted browned butter across the top of the rolled out dough.

Sprinkle with sugar mixture on top of butter.

Using a pizza cutter, slice the dough vertically into 6 strips.

Stack cinnamon sugar strips on top of each other, then again cut strips 6 times, so that they're little squares.

Arrange squares in greased bread pan so that they looked like they're stacked on their sides.

Place bread on the center rack of the oven, preheated to 350F.

Bake for about 30 minutes (until top is golden brown).

Serve warm (it's so tasty!!)

Enjoy!
